• Motional announced

"Motional and Lyft announced the planned launch of a fully driverless ride-hail service in Los Angeles. The service will use Motional’s all-electric IONIQ 5-based robotaxis and will be the first time that residents in Los Angeles can request an autonomous vehicle (AV) in the Lyft app."

Food

Motional is also testing food deliveries (Uber Eats) in Santa Monica

Zoox

To begin, Zoox will deploy a small number of our retrofitted test fleet vehicles, equipped with safety drivers, in a small area of the Los Angeles metro area. As is standard when we begin operations in a new city, we will first send the test fleet to complete manual mapping missions before beginning autonomous driving later this summer. [2025]
